Length: approx. 4 mins. Sounds best if the bass is doubled.
That Entertaining Rag is a jolly roustabout which has an extended form of AABBACCABA with a 4-bar introduction whereby the A-, B- and C-strains are written in the major flatted keys of Bb, F and Eb respectively. The cover of the original sheet music shows a pair of bemonocled, nattily clad entertainers in tails, strutting about and accompanied by a similarly clan pianist presumably playing That Entertaining Rag. In this adaptation for recorder quintet, the treble voice has, except for a few bars, all the running.
That Entertaining Rag was published by Geo. W. Meyer Music Co., New York, USA.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested.
