Trebor Jay Tichenor in his Ragtime Rediscoveries comments that J.J.J Rag sounds as if it had been written in the Rosebud Café with Thomas Million Turpin was looking over his shoulder. The first strain of this rag is identified as being identical to that used by the St. Louis pianist, Charles Thompson, also as first strain in his Delmar Rag. This theme was however originally composed by Conroy Casey, said to have been one of Scott Joplin's favourite pianists. This a pleasant easy-going rag to be taken light-heartedly.
J.J.J Rag was published by Pekin Pub. Co., Chicago, Illinois, USA.
A tempo of 74 crotchets/min. is suggested.
