A Tally-Ho Party is a brisk and lively march two-step. The front cover shows a coach and four with a merry party of lads and lasses onboard. Its form is AABBCCCC with a 2-bar introduction and a 16-bar interlude preceding each of the final two C-strains whereby the AABBA- and CCCC- strains are in the major keys of F and Bb. The cheerful lyrics are as follow:
Bars 35-50:
Hi there, my brave boys, Tallyho! Stay in the road boys. Hi! Go slow;
Blow up the horns boys, loud and long. Bowl on, roll on with a laugh and song.
Bars 67-82:
Moonlight and singing, Tallyho! Girls laughter ringing, Hang to your beau;
Swing round the corners, blow horns, blow, Hi there, my brave boys, Tallyho!
A Tally-Ho Party was published by J.W. Jenkins' Sons Music Co., Kansas City, Missouri, USA.
A tempo of 180 crotchets/min. is suggested.
