Purchasing information Notice for leaders/bass players
Length: approx. 2 ¾ mins. Sounds best if 1st tenor and bass are doubled.
Hunter's first published work,
Tickled to Death, is a lively rag with "folksy" strains. The young Negro lads shown on the cover of the original sheet music are clearly delighted with something or other, this fine rag perhaps? Close examination reveals that even their toes are curled up in an ecstasy of enjoyment. The reasons for their mirth however are sadly lost in the depths of a century-old ragtime history.
Tickled to Death was published by
Frank G. Fite, Nashville, Tennessee, USA.
A tempo of 180 crotchets/min. is suggested.
