Length: approx. 3 mins. Sounds best with 1st tenor doubled.
On to Victory, an early work - perhaps his first published piece, is a straightforward march written entirely in the key of Ab-major of AABBCC form whereby the A, B and C sections are of 16, 32 and 24 bars respectively. It is pure conjecture but the march's title may commemorate or reflect on the coming Spanish-American war with its struggles in Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Philippines.
On to Victory was published by P.J. Lammers, Baltimore, Maryland, USA.
A tempo of 150 crotchets/min. is suggested.
