I was introduced to this work in September 2000 on joining the Schrader Ensemble, Bremen. As the title suggests there are five "canciones" namely:
We play "Un gai bergier", a jolly piece, at a fairly fast tempo. There is bright time signature change from 4/4 to 3/4 and back to liven things up. We also play "Ade mi mort", this item being marked by a dreamlike opening whereby each voice joins the first (descant) in succession as in a canon, a truly beautiful renaissance piece.
I performed Ade mi mort and Un gai bergier as a bass player and member of the Bremer Blockflötenensemble notably at the Kreismusikschule Diepholz on 8th September 2001.
