Here's How as a recorder sextet is an all tenor/bass affair and here the bass voices are reminded not to overwhelm the tenors. The one step's form is AABBAACC with a 4-bar introduction whereby the AB- and C-strains are written in the major keys of F and Bb respectively. It is a lovely piece the flowing melodies of which are advantageously brought out by the tenor voices. Whatever Here's How was intended to demonstrate is lost in ragtime history.
Here's How was published in Melody by Walter Jacobs, Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested.
