According to the Internet source given below, The Thames Valley Recorder Orchestra was formed in 2007 by Helen Hooker and Anne Helmore. The orchestra rehearses once a month near Reading, Berkshire and gave its inaugural performance in the Recital Room at South Hill Park Arts Centre in Bracknell.
The orchestra is building up a repertoire which currently includes a combination of original recorder orchestra repertoire and arrangements from other mediums. In their first concert the orchestra gave the world premiere of Steve C. Marshall's Rhapsody for bassoon and recorder orchestra with Harriet Oliver, one of the orchestra's members, as soloist.
The orchestra is conducted by Helen Hooker a recorder player, conductor and teacher who is based in Essex.
