According to the Internet source given below, Harry Ruby [Harry Rubenstein] was an American composer and screenwriter born in New York City,
He toured the vaudeville circuit as a pianist with the Bootblack Trio and the Messenger Boys Trio, until meeting lyricist Bert Kalmar. They were a successful song writing team over three decades.
He died in Woodland Hills, California.
