According to the Internet source given below, Wilhelm Killmayer was born in Munich. He studied conducting and composition with Hermann Wolfgang von Waltershausen. He also had private lessons with Carl Orff and then attended Orff's master class at the Staatliche Musikhochschule in Munich. At the same time he studied musicology with Rudolf von Ficker and Walter Riezler. He held a number of musical and academic posts before becoming a free lance composer in Frankfurt am Main. His works include operas, ballets, orchestral works, symphonies, chamber music, choral music, etc.
