According to the Internet source given below, Frederick W. Hager was an American musician born in New Milford, Pennsylvania and was a, recording artist, publisher, compose, and music director.
He studied violin at the National Conservatory and led his own band in New York City at the age of 21. In 1898 he began recording for Harms, Kaiser and Hagen. Later he recorded with Edison, Zonophone and Columbia ias well as serving bandleader.
Of ragtime interest is Miss Dixie (1907) published at his own Helf & Hager Co., New York, USA.
He died in Dunedin, Florida.
