According to The New Penguin Dictionary of Music, Alfonso (I) Ferrabosco was an Italian composer of motets, madrigals; intermittently resident in London, for a time court musician to Elisabeth I, but returned to Italy, 1578. Father of Alfonso (II) Ferrabosco.
