Carlo Farina  (c.1600-1640)

According to The Oxford Companion to Music, Carlo Farina was born in Mantua (date unknown) but lived largely at Dresden and Danzig. He was one of the earliest writers of virtuoso music for the violin (five books published 1626-8).
