William Bolcom  (1938-)

According to The New Penguin Dictionary of Music, William [Elden] Bolcom is an American composer, pupil of Darius Milhaud (in California and Paris); works include Dynamite Tonite (a pop opera for actors and 11 instruments), 8 string quartets, "Dark Music" for kettledrums and cello.
The dictionary makes no mention of his influence on and considerable output of latter-day ragtime music.
