Paperback 246 pages.
A collection of old songs and ballads including the most favourite of Moore's Irish Melodies.
Edited with new symphonies and accompaniments.
Personal remarks:
This book is in the possession of Dr Oliver Rosteck and is the source of some of the Irish drinking songs in our repertoire. These include
Cruiscín Lán,
Fill the bumper fair,
The Rakes of Mallow,
Wreath the Bowl and
One Bumper at Parting. The book itself delights with its old, beautiful songs that are rarely sung or even known today. The songs are worlds away from U2 et al! It is well laid out and well worth the publisher's label as "The Royal Edition". It is/was part of a series of song books and operatic albums.
