Maddy Prior (1947-)

According to the Internet source given below, Madelaine Edith "Maddy" Prior, MBE is an English folk singer born in Blackpool. She is probably best known as the lead vocalist of Steeleye Span of which she was a founding member. Prior has also worked and recorded with Tim Hart, Silly Sisters and John Kirkpatrick amongst others. One of her greatest hits was All Around my Hat.
She still (2013) tours with Steeleye Span on the Wintersmith Tour and with The Carnival Band each November and December
She was awarded the MBE for services to folk music in 2001 and i n 2014 she received an Honorary Fellowship from the University of Cumbria.
